The Sacraments of First Reconciliation (AKA Penance and/or Confession) and First Communion are celebrated following some time for preparation and demonstration of readiness of the reception of the Sacraments. This time consists of attending Sunday Liturgy with regularity, Catechesis, Retreats for the family, Preparation and even little practice before the actual Reception of the Sacrament.   

 

Typically, children in level 2 (age 7 or 8) prepare for these Sacraments. 

 

But God calls us each individually to grow in grace, and so not all children fall into the typical "timeline." At St. Charles Parish, we meet the child where he/she is at and help him/her to prepare and grow.
